Our Department Activities and Conditions We Treat
For Patients and Their Families
- We share our treatment outcomes and surgical techniques both domestically and internationally.
- For urinary tract stones (kidney, ureteral, and bladder stones), we actively perform endoscopic treatments such as transurethral lithotripsy (f-TUL/f-URS) and endoscopic combined intrarenal surgery (ECIRS), selecting the most appropriate surgical method for each patient. (Since 2003, we have performed over 4,000 f-TUL procedures and over 500 PNL/ECIRS procedures.)
- For benign prostatic hyperplasia, we select from two types of laser systems and Prostatic Urethral Lift (PUL) procedures according to each patient’s condition.
- For adrenal and kidney tumors, we offer treatment options ranging from laparoscopic surgery to open surgery.
- For bladder cancer, we provide a variety of bladder-preserving treatments (including transurethral tumor resection, chemotherapy, and intravesical therapy) as well as radical cystectomy and combination chemotherapy.
- For prostate cancer, we provide both medical therapy and surgical treatment (open surgery). In radical prostatectomy, we aim for complete cancer removal while minimizing urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
- We also treat other urological conditions, including male menopause (LOH syndrome).
For Referring Physicians
- Please make referrals through the Regional Medical Liaison Office.
- For patients referred from distant areas, we may ask referring physicians to assist with interim follow-up care during the treatment course.
- In collaboration with medical device manufacturers, we provide technical training for urologists in urinary stone treatment at our hospital (approximately 5 in-hospital sessions and 5 external sessions annually). Please contact the respective medical device manufacturers for details.
- We welcome physicians from across Japan after board certification training (more than 10 physicians to date). Our training programs are conducted on a yearly basis.
